"So powerful to hear a firsthand account."
"Uplifting and shocking."
"Great way to raise awareness."
"Amazing - really powerful and engaging. Lovely food and lovely people."
"Great to meet over a meal and connect. Incredible story, really powerfully communicated."
These were just some of the comments about the Peace Feast in Bristol last night, where we had the priviledge of hearing from Syrian refugee Ahmad Al-Rashid who told his personal story of fleeing Syria, making his way through great hardship across Europe, and settling into life in the UK. You can see more of his story in the BBC documentary Exodus, and you can also hear our short interview with him here.
Thank you to everyone who came, to Hussein and the team at Fateema for providing the delicious food, and especially to Ahmad for sharing with us.
It was certainly an evening we won't forget!
