90 people from Bristol's student and refugee communities came together for an enjoyable evening of food, music and conversation at Hamilton House recently.
The event was organised by Bridges in partnership with Student Action for Refugees (STAR) and with other organisations that support refugees in Bristol. The goal was to share a meal and get to know one another, for students to find out about the challenges that refugees face and how they can get involved as volunteers, and for refugees and asylum seekers to find out about what the various organisations have to offer. Bristol Hospitality Network put on a wonderful meal, Ali & Knud from Nabra played some fantastic music on the Oud, and a good time was had by all!
With special thanks to the Common Good Fund for sponsoring the participation of some of our friends from the refugee and asylum seekers community, and to Melanie Vaxevanakis for making this fantastic highlights video!
